Why did you join the SGPA?
We returned to Vancouver in 2019 after 23 years abroad and fell into the Saints Community. We were so warmly welcomed, it felt like we had never been away. I quickly got involved in the Saints community, volunteering for The Fair and Staff Appreciation Committees and becoming a Grade Parent for several years. How could I say no to the SGPA? An amazing team of parents working tirelessly to put together fun and exciting school and community events for the boys, parents and staff. I’m so happy to be a part of an organization that promotes positive, impactful and meaningful connections.

Why did you join the SGPA?
I am a firm believer that children and families benefit from strong school community involvement. The SGPA models to our sons how to give back to our School while providing a meaningful and fun experience for members. I first got a taste of the Saints community when co-convening The Fair midway through our first year, and I treasure the friendships made during that time. I have enjoyed the Boy-O-Boy Speaker Series over the years and feel honoured to be trusted to help lead this team, providing opportunities for Saints families to learn, engage, and connect.

Why did you join the SGPA?
I jumped at the chance to join the SGPA when I saw an opening with my skill set. But more importantly, it was an opportunity to join a board with a mission to give back to the School and support the ongoing development of the St. George's community. It was just what I needed to proactively give back in a way that would impact my boys’ time at Saints. The St. George's community extends beyond the School walls and has an ongoing impact on all faculty, staff, students, parents and alumni.

Why did you join the SGPA?
My son started Saints in Grade 1, and I volunteered to be a Grade Parent that year. During his primary years, I volunteered in various ways, such as at The Fair, in the library, on the playground, and I was always impressed with the Saints community and the willingness of the parents to get involved. I was so happy to join the SGPA Board because I really believe in its mission. Our school is stronger because of its community, and that strength translates into a much more meaningful experience for our boys, which extends beyond the walls of our school.
