Why did you join the SGPA?
I jumped at the chance to join the SGPA when I saw an opening with my skill set. But more importantly, it was an opportunity to join a board with a mission to give back to the School and to support the ongoing development of the St. George's Community. It was just what I needed to proactively give back in a way that would impact my boys’ time at Saints. The St. George's community extends beyond the School walls, and has an ongoing impact for all faculty, staff, students, parents and Alumni.

Why did you join the SGPA?
We returned to Vancouver in 2019 after 23 years away and fell into the Saints Community. We were so warmly welcomed, it felt like we had never been away. I quickly got involved in volunteering for the Fair and Staff Appreciation Committees and becoming a GradeParent. How could I say no to the SGPA? An amazing group of parents working together tirelessly to put together fun and exciting school and community events for the boys, parents and staff.

Why did you join the SGPA?
When my sons were accepted to St. George's, I realized that we will be raising our children for the next 12 or so years alongside the families in my sons' grades. We believe that the stronger we make our connection to the school community, the more meaningful our time at St. George's will be. The SGPA is such a vibrant community. It really is a creative and dynamic collection of parents who believe in giving back with the goal of providing opportunities to families of St. George's to contribute and connect. The SGPA is a bunch of very fun people with a serious purpose.

Why did you join the SGPA?
When my son joined in Grade 1, I was a Grade Parent. Through the years I have helped out in various ways and was so happy to join the SGPA Board this year because I really believe in its mission. Our school is stronger because of its community and that strength translates into a much more meaningful experience for our boys and extends beyond the walls of our school.

Why did you join the SGPA?
Volunteering at St. George’s School on a regular basis always felt so rewarding to me, with the appreciation from students, parents, faculty and staff being abundant. My first experience working with the Saints community was when my son was in Grade 1, AND I was a Saints Fair co-convenor of the Cakewalk. The energy, support and fun we all enjoyed that day continues to be a cherished memory, frequently reminisced amongst our family and friends.

I was thrilled to join the SGPA for the opportunity to meet and work with the Saints community on a larger scale, in a fun and productive atmosphere. I will always be grateful for this life-enhancing experience.

Why did you join the SGPA?
I wanted to make a difference in the St. George’s School Community and saw the SGPA as the perfect vehicle to achieve that goal. After watching the positive influence on my two stepchildren and two children that the School has had and continues to have, I wanted to contribute to the School in whatever manner I could.

Why did you join the SGPA?
I am a firm believer that children and families benefit from strong school community involvement. The SGPA models to our sons how to give back to our School, whilst also providing a meaningful and fun experience for members. I first got a taste of the Saints community when co-convening the Fair Midway in our first year, and treasure the friendships made during that time. I have enjoyed the Boy-O-Boy Speaker Series over the past two years and feel honoured to be trusted to help lead this team providing opportunities for Saints families to learn, engage and connect.

Why did you join the SGPA?
I welcome the opportunity to give back to the community and felt the SGPA would be a great platform to facilitate this. We have amazing parents and faculty that are so generous with their time and involvement for our boys. My first taste of the Saints community was  in 2017,  co-convening Antiques & Treasures at the Saints Fair, in our families’ first year at the School. I have been a huge fan of  the Boy-O-Boy Speaker Series over past years and am excited and honoured to be a part of this team.

Why did you join the SGPA?
Upon joining St. George’s, we felt the warmth and support the community brought to us. With gratitude, I actively participated in various volunteer activities and became a Grade Parent to serve the Saints community. I have been fortunate to meet more like-minded friends in the past few years. The SGPA gives me the opportunity to contribute to our community to the best of my ability and I am proud to be a part of the team.

Why did you join the SGPA?
I sincerely believe that the strength of the Saint's community comes from our collective efforts to give our kids amazing opportunities for growth and fun. I was touched by how quickly the SGPA and Saints community came together for the "Cram the Van" Abbotsford flood disaster relief project. I've been impressed with the amazing spirit of volunteerism and skill from the parent community required to put together the Saints Fair. I am honoured to have the invaluable opportunity to give back to the School and the Saints community by joining the SGPA. I'm very much looking forward to being a part of such a caring and motivated team. Grateful for the chance to grow with my son and the School together, for a better community.
