Home Course
Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club is a tree-lined, parkland-style golf course overlooking the mouth of the Fraser River and Strait of Georgia. While the club itself dates back to 1911, the actual course was constructed in 1960, designed by Arthur Vernon Macan: a Scottish immigrant who was one of the region’s best golfers. Many of the trees at Shaughnessy, which boast over one hundred and fifty different species, were donated by club members and planted when the course was being built. Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club has long been regarded as one of the best golf courses in Canada, currently ranked in the top 20 by Scoregolf Magazine. The club has hosted many high profile pro events, including the 2011 Canadian Open which coincided with Shaughnessy’s 100th Anniversary.
