In the Primary Outdoor Education Program, we focus on helping students feel comfortable being outside. We want them to understand the joys of playing in the forest and getting their hands dirty. Of course, we mix in lots of learning about the natural spaces that we live and work in.
Our Primary Programs consist of day trips to numerous parks and green spaces around Vancouver. Some highlights of our programs each year are our trips to the Capilano Salmon Hatchery, the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, down to the intertidal zones at Spanish Banks as well as numerous visits to Stanley Park and Pacific Spirit Park. Throughout all these experiences, students develop a sense of wonder about the natural world and feel more connected to these spaces and the peers with whom they experience these trips.
